Electric Customer Design Build Program

As a builder or developer, we understand that getting the job done quickly and efficiently is important to you. The Customer Design Build Program allows you to work directly with a FortisBC pre-approved electrical design contractor on all aspects of your project. This option affords customers more flexibility to work within their own timeline.

How the program works

  1. Hire a pre-approved electrical design contractor from the names provided by FortisBC (listed below). Work with your contractor to develop a basic overview of the design for your project.
  2. Contact FortisBC at 1-866-436-7847 to submit your proposed project design for review by the Customer Design Group. Be sure to request that the project be considered for the Customer Design Build Program.
  3. Once your project has been reviewed, and approved, by the Customer Design Group, you’ll be contacted and advised of next steps.
  4. Your contractor develops a detailed design based on FortisBC’s requirements and submits it for final review. They then purchase and install the FortisBC-approved materials according to approved construction standards.

Who should use the Customer Design Build Program?

The program is best suited for builders and developers of larger residential subdivisions or commercial projects.
